Av) before trying to update? AFAIK, the firmware update doesn't work in full-auto mode. Just a wild guess: did you put your camera in one of the manual modes (e.g. Obiw Did you tried using the canon utility tool? I am a little illiterate when it comes to this stuff. I guess that is what mnhphotoed means by has to be in the root file. The firmware cannot be in a file or the camera won't find it. I'd try formatting the card in your camera and retry it, like has already been suggested. What is the exact name of the file you are copying to the CF card? I didn't format the CF, but don't think that will matter, but i will give it a try The root is not where you normaly see you photo file, that is one of the directories on the card. If it is not in the root you will get mesages like you have been getting. same problem.Īre you sure that you have copied the file to the root of the CF card. I also tried updating with the canon utility tool. When I turn on my camera en select update firmware he eventually says "can't find new firmware" I downloaded the new 7D firmware (2.0) from the canon website.
